Gum Therapy healty tooth in gum

Gum Therapy
Preventing gum disease is one of the most important things you can do to protect your teeth and your overall health. Dr. Lemon’s goal with all patients is to use preventative measures whenever possible to avoid complicated extractions and/or restorative dental procedures.  Gum therapy may be necessary if he sees signs of gum disease during an exam.  The therapy includes numbing the teeth and the roots so our hygienists can clean beneath the gums to prevent further damage.

tooth extraction

Extractions
There are many reasons a tooth may need to be extracted, but there is no reason to fear an extraction. If teeth are over-crowded, decayed, or damaged due to some sort of trauma an extraction may be necessary. Dr. Lemon is sensitive to the fear and anxiety this may cause in some patients. He uses the most advanced technology and sedation techniques to make the process as comfortable as possible. Additionally once a tooth is extracted he can perform a variety of esthetic and restorative procedures, including dental implants, crowns, bridges, and veneers.

Preventative tooth exams

Preventative Exams

The key to good oral health is prevention and Dr. Lemon and his staff are dedicated to preventing dental problems before they occur. By providing comprehensive personalized exams, Dr. Lemon can establish a base line of care for new patients and track oral health changes over time. All exams are thorough and include an oral cancer screening.

Regular exams are recommended to keep you and your teeth healthy.

tooth crown

Crowns
The idea of getting a crown can seem overwhelming but really there are just a few steps involved. In most cases, getting a crown can be finished in two visits to our office.

First Visit: Preparation
We usually take a few X-rays to examine the roots of the tooth receiving the crown. Next, we will reshape your tooth to make room for the crown. Then we take a digital impression of the teeth which is sent out so your custom crown can be created. Our process is unique. Unlike most dentists we do not use putty, which makes the experience more pleasant. Prior to leaving our office we will place a temporary crown over the tooth to protect it while the custom crown is being made.

Second Visit: Placing the Crown
Typically about 2 weeks after the first visit we schedule an appointment to place your custom crown. During this visit we simply cement the crown to your teeth and make sure everything looks good.

teeth whitening

Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is a simple and relatively easy process for improving your smile and your confidence. Talk to us about our process. Dr. Lemon will examine your smile and discuss affordable options for making your smile brighter and whiter. Talk to us about the smile you desire.

dental x-rays

Digital X-Rays
Our commitment to modern technology is everywhere in our practice.  We provide digital X-rays in our office because they offer our patients three big advantages over traditional X-rays.

dental bridge

Dental Bridge
Similar to crowns, the idea of getting a dental bridge can produce some fear and anxiety. Rest easy, getting a dental bridge can usually be done in just two visits to our office.

First Visit: Preparation
Preparation involves re-contouring the anchor teeth to prepare for the bridge. We remove a portion of the enamel on these teeth to allow room for a bridge to be placed over them. Next, digital impressions of the teeth are taken and sent to the digital lab. Dr. Lemon will make a temporary bridge to protect the exposed teeth and gums while the permanent bridge is being made.

Second Visit: Placement
During the second visit, your temporary bridge will be removed and the new permanent bridge will be checked and adjusted, as necessary, to achieve a proper fit.

dental veneers

Dental Veneers
If traditional teeth whitening procedures are not enough to produce the smile you desire, you may want to consider veneers. A veneer is a thin shell that covers your natural tooth in order to improve the appearance of your smile. Veneers are about the width of a contact lens, and are made of a tooth colored porcelain that is customizable to your desired shade.

Veneers can correct a variety of issues including teeth that are:
– Stained or discolored
– Chipped or broken
– Worn down
– Uneven, unsightly, crooked, or irregularly shaped
– Spaced oddly, creating gaps

dentures

Dentures
Lemon Family Dental offers full and partial denture options.  We can discuss the dentures that are right for you and ensure that the entire process is as calm and relaxing as possible.

Full Dentures:
Full dentures are needed when all of the teeth are missing. You can choose between conventional and immediate full dentures. Conventional dentures are made after your teeth have been removed and your gums have healed. It usually takes about 12 weeks. Immediate dentures are made beforehand so that you can have your dentures as soon as your teeth are removed.

Partial Dentures:
Partial dentures are custom made to fit with your remaining natural teeth. The remaining teeth help keep the partial denture secure, without using messy adhesives.

dental implants

Dental Implants
Dental implants are realistic artificial teeth that are implanted into the bone where your natural tooth used to reside. Once the bone heals around the implant, a post and crown can be placed. Implant crowns look and function exactly like natural teeth.

Sedation dentistry

Sedation Dentistry
Dr. Lemon knows that many patients experience a great deal of fear and anxiety when anticipating a visit to the dentist. His practice is committed to providing the most gentle and relaxing environment possible for his patients. Mild to Moderate levels of sedation are offered to provide a calm, pain-free visit.

composite fillings

Composite Fillings
Composite fillings offer a metal-free option in addressing your cavities. If your tooth has a small area of decay, we can remove the damaged portion and fill it with a composite resin. Fillings can also be used to repair minor cracks and fractures.

Dr. Lemon uses composite fillings because they contain no metal and they look indistinguishable from real teeth. There has been some controversy over the safety of metal fillings. We value your health and safety over all else.

Lemon Family Dental is committed to providing patients with bright smiles and gentle care.

Most major insurance plans are accepted. Convenient payment options are available through Care Credit.
